Disney update 8.29.12 Halloween decorations

 
  • 2 more weeks till the first MNSSHP... The last few nights, Disney has been busy transforming the park for Halloween. 

  • MNSSHP begins on  Sept 11th. The event is only on select nights and is a separate ticketed event.

  • In addition to many favorite Disney attractions, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is filled with special entertainment, including:
  • Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade—including Disney Characters and the stars of the Haunted Mansion attraction. The parade begins with a spook-tacular ride by the Headless Horseman.
  • Happy HalloWishes—a spectacular fireworks show where the Disney Villains go trick-or-treating in the sky.
  • Many favorite Disney Characters and Disney Villains in special Halloween costumes.
  • Special lighting, music and theming effects transforms special areas of Magic Kingdom theme park into happy haunted hollows.

  • Stores around the parks display their Halloween merch.


  • At Hollywood Studios, Christmas lights are starting to go up over at Streets of America for this year Osborne Spectacle of lights.  The lights turn on Nov 9th

24 Hours at Disney. One More Disney Day.

At the Magic Kingdom today for One More Disney Day! Magic Kingdom will be open for 24 hours (6am-6am). Special entertainment is scheduled for the morning hours. Will post updates on what's going on around the Magic Kingdom.

ºoº Mickey, Minnie and others greeted guest this morning at 5:50 am to officially open the park for 24 hours.

ºoºA very foggy morning but all clear now.


ºoº Park maps the same, but the times guide has a little bit more because of the special extended hours. A limited number of hats were given out. Pins were given to everyone who entered the park. (while supplies last)

A steady stream of guests are coming in the park now, but still not bad at all. 9AM

ºoº 3 Move It Shake It Celebrate It parade floats were used for the Dance The Night Away Party which kicked off at 1AM. One of the floats had a DJ.

As it got dark more people came in the MK as the other parks closed and cast members came in after work. Huge crowds were still coming in before midnight.

Guests pack the castle hub for Dance the Night Away party
 Hoedown in front of the Country Bear Jamboree. Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear and some of the bears from the CBJ joined it for an early morning hoedown.

Something you don't want to see after spending almost 24 hours in the park!



Thanks to the hundreds of you who followed this post! Really enjoyed this day! Got to ride a lot of rides. Some of which I have never done ( Astro Orbiter, Tom Sawyer Island, Country Bear Jamboree, Peter Pan) Didn't enjoy being stuck for 15 mins inside the monorail going home! (3AM)  Express monorail was down, no ferry boats, and resort monorail which is where everyone was waiting only had 2 trains. Hopefully they got it fixed before closing time.
