Construction update on the Underwater viewing / Dine with Shamu area. UWV is now fully landscaped but pathway still blocked with a new wooden wall. Still no word from SW on an opening date.

New souvenir refillable cups available aside from the new Turtle Trek design. SW added an orange Shamu cup and a swirly orange one which I believe is for the icee slush type drinks. Did not see anymore of the OneOcean cups so they might be all gone.

Have kids? Going to SW soon? Make sure you pick up one of these maps. These "Kidsiderate" guide pamphlet has some good tips on what kids under 9 yrs/o might enjoy around the park. It includes tips on shows, animal connections, photo opportunities and dining options. You can pick up a guide near the reservations desk at the front of the park. Sample of what is inside below:

The Garden of Discovery area has been blocked and made a part of the queue for TurtleTrek for the busy summer season.

Finally, SeaWorld announced late yesterday that a whale in the Blue Horizons show has died. Jozu the false killer whale who performs in the middle part of the Blue Horizons dolphin show.

SeaWorld update 5.13.12.

Could the Shamu Underwater viewing be opening soon? The large trailers and most of the heavy equipment around the area has been cleared of the pumps, cords, and generators from previous updates. The UWV pathway has new plants already in place and parts of the wall painted. The pool is filled with water and the rising floor down with the slide-out areas of the pool lined with guardrail barriers.

Before and after pics of what will be the new Antarctica attraction
 Today:

On some days the new Turtle Trek attraction at SeaWorld will have " Fastpass " only for the new attraction. If you are not happy with the current wait time of the attraction there is a team member just to the right of the entrance of the attraction... look for a sign saying "show time tickets" Currently, you do not need to show anything to get these, they are available to anyone. You will need one for each person in your party, just like a Fastpass at Disney.

The Clyde and Seamore show at the SeaLion and Otter Stadium do not have any shows scheduled for the last couple of days as it gets some work done on the stadium set. Clyde made an appearance anyway along with Captain Squid and some of the trainers for a Q&A in front of the main entrance of the stadium. The shows will resume May17th.

Who's back in OneOcean? Tili

After missing for a couple of months, guess who's back? Tili... Tilikum made an appearance for his part of the One Ocean show just in time as it is getting warm here in FL. One of the team members said that he made a quick appearance on Thursday's show and 2 of the shows that we were at today 1230, and 2 pm. Did not stay for the Shamu Rocks show. You can tell Tili is about to come out when usually 2 trainers run from the back pool to the front.

Also noticed they have a new system with the side gates that trainers enter and exit from during the shows. They now have to scan something in their wrist on small boxes near the gate to gain access to the side gates... when the gate was left open for a certain amount of time a high pitched beep would come on until the gate is closed. Some of the trainers forget that they need to swipe their wrist on the box before the gate opens, so it must be a new thing they need to do.

As of last weeks update the tank Underwater viewing / dine with shamu is now filled with water again and the rising floor up. Team Members do not know the date for re-opening.
